The minimum salary offered should be by as per the relevant Decree of the Minister of Labour and Social Insurance, i.e. the minimum salary set by law in Cyprus which is 1,000€ per month.

Additionally, if the employment involves a regulated profession, the spouse must submit documentation verifying compliance with the specific professional standards required by Cypriot law.

The spouse’s employment permit is directly tied to the employment and residence status of the sponsoring partner. Any changes to the sponsor’s legal status or residence could impact the spouse’s permit. If the spouse currently holds a visitor status under the family reunification program, they may apply to change this status to employment once a job is secured.

Upon approval, the first permit is valid for one year from the date of issuance and may be renewed based on continues employment.
