PERMANENT RESIDENCE PERMIT

Cyprus has been a member of the European Union since 2004, and a member of the Eurozone since 2008. In addition to the inherent benefits of the EU membership, Cyprus offers high-quality health care, stable and attractive legal system based on English common law, education at the highest standards, both, public and private schools, including British universities based in Cyprus. English language is widely spoken and is now accepted “business language” on the island. Cyprus Permanent Residency Programme, grants the right to travel within the EU with less complex visa requirements and can be seen as a first step towards acquiring Cypriot citizenship (subject to meeting various criteria). In this context, Cypriot authorities have simplified the procedure for granting a permanent residence permit (PRP) to non-EU citizens.
